That's why I've always had a monitor with only g-sync. Due to my move I had to sell it and was in dire need of another monitor. After a lot of research (not much info on this particular model) I compared this monitor to Asus TUF 32”, Gigabyte 32” and Samsung Odyssey G7 32”. I've read horror stories about panel backlights blowing out on Gigabyte screens and Samsung monitors flickering on G-Sync. So now I have 2 left. Again I was coming from monitors that were g-sync only so I was hesitant as this was my first freesync. I've decided the ROG Strix is the direction I'm going in as it has a slightly higher refresh rate and overall design. Everything else was similar between TUF and Strix. It also helped that I found a brand new STRIX on OfferUp for $260. Minimal backlighting, superb build quality and stunning 1440p images. The fact that they include USB Type-C is also a win. I have yet to try g-sync as my computer is still full. I'll update as soon as I do. All I can say is you can't go wrong with this monitor. I'm already impressed!
