Review on Bamboo Roll Window Blind Shade Home Decor : Window Treatments by Laura Bobzien

Can be shortened for do-it-yourself work

I needed a cord curtain to block out the harsh sunlight over my sink. My window is 28x36cm. Anything this size costs a lot more than I was willing to spend. If you are smart you can easily shorten this. The cords attach to the top of the tree, not the curtain itself. Since it's 72 inches, it was too long. After laying it on the table fully unfolded and removing the strings, I was able to get my scissors and cut the bamboo to shorten it. Make it 6 inches longer than you need. Then I took off a few rows of bamboo and folded the threads that hold it together one row up and glued it in place with wood glue. I also took a hand stapler and stapled them together as an extra precaution. The cords can then be cut. We rolled ours back and it was easier to hang. The brim is not visible when open as it is cut longer than I need and has padding at the bottom. We had to go online to see how to hang them. The instructions they come with aren't great and are rolled up in the blinds along with hanging hooks. We are very fond of the blind and that is why we can still see from the outside.

Pros
  • Caution: Do not set up curtains in wet or damp rooms. Actual natural bamboo may vary slightly in color from computer monitors/calibrations.
Cons
  • Negative Impression
