Cute design when your eyes are perfect. Not for beginners

I am an experienced cross stitcher. I bought it for my goddaughter who had her first child. The thread arrived color separated and was well marked. However, some color symbols are difficult to distinguish, and even with a magnifying glass, it was difficult to distinguish the markings on the pattern. I've never worked on a project for so long. It breaks my heart, but I've finally realized that I won't be able to do this until the child goes to kindergarten. So, for the first time, I turn down a cross stitch project.
