I chose a Gray Whale 18-55 vr because it was $50 less expensive and only had a one-year guarantee. I then purchased a 55-200 VR. My first SLR. Extremely delighted with everything. While there are obviously drawbacks, they are rarely visible due to the infrequent shooting situations. In extreme circumstances, you simply have to put in a little bit more work. For instance, you might twist a polarizing filter manually after focusing instead of exposure bracketing or perform HDRku programmatically from RAW. In other words, heaven and earth come next after the soapbox. You can capture excellent pictures that are on par with costly DSLRs if you have a little bit of artistic flair and basic computer skills. There are a few of my examples after the break.
- Price. The best of the virtues might be this. Not all DSLRs can record video in Full HD, but some photographers don't even require it. A really admirable feature of the Kit lens is the VR vibration reduction technology. Even at shutter speeds greater than 1/10, clear pictures may be captured. High ISOs function well with the exception of the flaws I listed: rapid and precise focusing, ultrasonic sensor cleaning, and the Guidance mode for beginners (you simply select the shooting conditions step by step, and the camera automatically selects the settings).
- Colors still suffer a little when compared to CCD matrices, despite what the developers state. At high ISO (3200+), the image is highly grainy in the dark parts, which is visible in nighttime photography. When you have to shoot from extremely low or high angles, the viewing screen does not rotate, which is a hassle. The battery life in Live View mode is really poor. All devices with a CMOS matrix experience the unfavorable Rolling Shutter effect when recording video, which manifests as distortion when the camera travels swiftly or removes objects. The annoying sound made by the lens focusing motor is also recorded along with the video. Many people lament the small screen, but I did not experience any particular annoyances. The image will remain clear even when the photo is zoomed in at an incredible scale, and the histogram will not reveal any information about picture losses. a spinning front lens on an 18-55mm lens that makes it challenging to utilize various filters. The kit does not include any HDMI or USB cords, so this is a minor drawback. I went to the market and paid 30 UAH for a Chinese one, but it still tastes bad. There are many lenses with built-in motors, so the absence of a focusing motor in the body is no longer an issue. However, the body itself lacks a vibration suppressor, so I had to take pictures directly into the telescope's focus without a lens. This is probably not a big deal because it happens very infrequently.
