They are cheap and easy to use because they are not packaged, however there is a clear color separation. It wasn't too bad for me and my project because I made different colored pencils and it didn't bother me if there was a thick line of the same color on the back. HOWEVER, something strange happened when I tried to blend green and black together and it ended up with an ORANGE color separation on the back? it was very strange. I may have to go back and buy better quality colored pencils for the rest of my project. You can see in my image that "DAXTON" was supposed to be black and green, but on the back of each of the colors there was a separation of what appears to be yellow or orange.
