EDIT: I've been using VTECH phones for over ten years now. Inexpensive and has always worked well. I felt like my old one was dying of battery and didn't last long at all and it was about five years old so I took this one. I ordered a blue one as a replacement. I came, I thought it looked good, got it charged, started using it. ONE, ECHO is. BAD. Whether on speakers or not, ECHO. Second, prepare yourself with a silver pen or paint as the CHROM around the phone has already started chipping. I'm the only one using the phone and I don't use it all day and the silver is already chipping. STILL LOVE VTECH. Not this SPECIFIC VTECH. I waited to write my review until I loaded and set it up. Oh, and ONE tip: if you put it on a SPEAKER, you'll likely hear an echo unless you're about a foot away from your mouth when you speak. PROS: SOUND QUALITY - I put it on a speaker and placed it five feet away from me and my elderly mom still heard me perfectly. When the speaker isn't on, the sound is crystal clear on both mine and hers. BATTERY LIFE - OK I haven't given a single star for battery life since I just got it BUT when it's like ALL the other VTECHs I've had it's pretty basic. Place it on the charging dock when not in use. YES, the battery will drain if you don't charge it overnight. EXPANDABLE - I LOVE that it can be expanded at will in my bedroom. SETUP - EASY to set up. YES I had to follow the wires from my old phone to the new one. I have an old desktop with all the cables behind it, but I'm just following the old and simple. PRICE - GREAT for a phone that has all the benefits this one has.
