If it doesn't light up the first time you plug it in, you can "touch" it and it will light up! But after the first first touch to put it on, no matter where or how many times you touch it, nothing happens. I ordered it for under cupboard lighting, primarily to use as a night light, so other than going back and reordering I'll keep it to myself. He will do what I need. But I would not recommend this product. Update: Received a replacement light with instructions on how to connect it correctly. Connected from one end it stays on, from the other end touch works fine. I love these little lights. Definitely would buy more.
