So this doesn't quite look like a live gardenia growing in your garden. I personally wasn't expecting 100% of the smell that nature produces, but I would say it's still 85-90% gardenia smell. Not bad for needlework. The only real difference is a slight touch of perfume. I still think it fills the need if you want to use it to make perfumes, body scrubs, candles, etc. If you had to smell this scent blindfolded, you would know it's gardenia. It is a pleasant, fragrant smell. It's neither too strong nor too weak (although diluted with other ingredients it may appear weaker). When I bought it, I read many reviews and bought the lilac scent. Lilac received a lot of positive feedback with several people saying it was the best scent they had (plus it was purchased more often so there weren't many reviews for Gardenia). In any case, I have to say that I personally find that the scent of gardenias is even closer to the scent of a real flower than lilac. This scent reminds me of a vacation in the state of Aloha, my favorite place. I definitely recommend it. :)
