Terrible experience installing this aftermarket part on my BMW. Word to the wise, stick with the OEM parts. It looks the same but is so different that it is very difficult to install. I was never able to get the pump in deep enough to have enough open threads on the bolts to pull it in. I tried using an old o-ring that was flatter than the one that came with it. I tried to cool the part down a bit so that it was below the cam body temperature. I tried to push as hard as possible and rock it too. Nothing worked. I went back to reinstalling the original water pump, which came out easily and went back in easily. I replaced it as a precaution because the fiber water pump pulley was cracked. Very disappointed as I spent 3 hours cutting my hands on the radiator trying to install this part. I have great upper body strength and learned how to work with cars from my father who was a senior mechanic and also an A&E mechanic who worked and was a 747 maintenance instructor for TWA. To compound the injury, I was forced to pay $5, which was 20 percent of my payment, to return a substantially defective part because it did not appear to be 100 percent spec of the OEM part.
