Much better than traditional cleaning sponges

I've been looking for a replacement for traditional disposable cleaning sponges for years. I hate the smell, the discolouration, the constant disposal after a few weeks. I knew there had to be a better answer. I've tried bath sponges, cleaning pads (not a sponge), plastic Brillo pads, "natural" Scotch sponges, spaghetti products, and asked friends at restaurants what they use (disposable cleaning sponges!), to no avail. This sponge might be the answer, but I wish it was a little thicker on the dirty side. It's not super absorbent, much like a curling sponge. My main problems lasted a long time and stayed clean. Never smelled. From time to time I disinfected it in the microwave, not because of the smell but simply because I was used to other sponges. This product lasted 2 months before washing the knives caused holes to form in the cleaned surface. Yes! So this time I will be instructing adults in the household to use a knife sponge (available in grocery stores without a sponge) and Magic Jetz Scrubz to clean everything else. I also use Trader Joe's natural cellulose pop-up sponges for mopping and soaking up when no washing is required (e.g. kitchen crumbs and spills). Yes, the back is meant to be wiped clean, but sometimes I prefer a cellulose dryer. So I don't think there is one sponge that is perfect for every use, but this one is damn close. Overall I am very satisfied with this product. If it breaks this time if the knives are not cleaned I will update the post.
