I knew I needed a great scratching post for my cat. She scratched all of our furniture and the scratching post she had was way too small and just not great! After placing an order for new furniture, we knew we had to make her a pole she wouldn't scratch anymore! After extensive research I found out what really matters in a scratching post is its size, it has to be big and tall for the cat to stretch out. It must be strong so that the cat cannot knock it over easily, and it must be of a comfortable material to scratch (sisal is preferable). Well, this post ticks all of those boxes. So I bought two posts, this one after finding this amazing deal on Amazon ($29.99 with free basic shipping with purchase) and a very expensive vet designed competitor post. A small note on cost - buy this on Amazon! It's way cheaper than pet stores, they go up to $80 at pet stores, so stick to Amazon! Anyway, my cat loves this post more than the more expensive competition and it really is perfect! It no longer scratches the furniture, our new furniture looks perfect! When she wants to scratch, she goes straight to this post and scratches, stretches and enjoys it to the fullest. I never thought a good scratching post would solve her scratching problem but this completely solved it! The investment was profitable. A few notes: you can buy a head for this scratching post to give your cat a comfortable place to sit. It's small, red and doesn't look very comfortable. I recommend doing it yourself! I made this and my cat loves it! I just took a piece of wood (you can choose any size you want, my square size fits hers), added a piece of foam and padding! If you want your cat to have a scratching post and a cute little perch, this is for you. My cat sits on it every day. She enjoys scratching her perch and loves to lie on it. I never thought she would love it more than her expensive trees, but she absolutely loves it. We also attached a small toy to the post. There are many things you can do to make this even better for your cat, although this is great on its own! In summary this is a great scratching post and I can't believe how cheap it is compared to others! This could solve your problem when your cat won't stop scratching your furniture! This completely solved mine. And one more thing: my cat uses this post actively and several times a day. Holds up very well and has never fallen over!
