Review on Portable Butane Gas Stove For Outdoor Adventures: 10,000BTU Camping Burner With Wind Guard And Carry Case by Derek Evans

Works well, but flame control knob isn't accurate

It works well, the wind screen is effective. It's lightweight, compact and easy to tuck away. It fits most every size pot or pan so no special cookware typically needs to be purchased. The burner grate is similar to one you would find on a natural gas home range. I've had a few stoves like this except with different cylinder securing mechanisms. This one, you just lay your butane cylinder in it, then once your ready to light it, depress the lever on the front and it pushes the cylinder into the office and begins dispensing gas. Once your turn the burner dial to the off position it triggers the lever to release the cylinder stopping the flow of gas. The dial on mine only uses 1/2 of the pictured flame control. It adjusts from low to high in the 1st half of the marking, you can still turn it in the 2nd 1/2 but it doesn't go any higher. See my photos I like having a storage case, but this one isn't robust. It's is a thinner flexible, not brittle plastic so it may never be a problem on trip, and wasn't when we took it in our overland jeep for 4 days. This trip we cooked 2 times a day for 4 days and went through 1-3/4 butane cylinders. One of our meals I cooked stew on low heat for a few hours so used more butane than we normally would. I cook everything between low to medium and occasionally boil water on high for coffee. Mine came with 3 hard plastic feet, I'm missing one on the right front, or maybe it only has 3 feet. If I use this on our aluminum table, it can slide around when your pushing a spatula under something in my pan. When using it on my wood top table it stays in place. It's nice this already comes with the adapter line to use with 1lb propane tanks. You never know what will be available wherever you are, and propane works better in colder temperatures.Lest I forget, you can store a butane cylinder with its cap on in the compartment, you just need to flip it around. See photos Other than my above gripes with the feet and flame control knob, I'm pleased with it.Hopefully this was helpful, Thank you!
