We chose this grater based on our previous experience with graters that are partly or mostly made of plastic. My husband usually makes the cheese grater at home. If you have a muscular man, grate the cheese. You need a muscular grater! He gradually broke 2 or 3 different types, some of which were made of plastic. That thing is hard! Even"handle" stainless steel. I have a feeling this will be the last one we should buy. Our only complaint is that the big side of the grille is REALLY big. The grater as a whole is still worth it because it is so strong!
