I love this toothbrush, my 4 year old son who will be 5 in September loves this toothbrush. It has a two minute timer, the light turns off when it's done, it also has a vibrator that vibrates for 30 seconds for each segment and a light that lets you look inside your mouth. It's very light and the bristles are very soft, I would say it's good for kids under 8 years old. I used a Brusheez toothbrush, it was awful. I used them for two years only to find out there was mold in the toothbrush head. It had a small hole in the top of the toothbrush head that caused debris even though I changed my toothbrush. Head every three months and she eventually died from me. This brush is very cool, it's much better than the ones I had before, the Brusheez toothbrush wasn't cleaning properly and my son's teeth were turning yellow. I hope this toothbrush helps with stains. Btw it's waterproof, don't know how long it will last but I hope it will last a while!
