Review on πŸ’§ iSpring WSP-50SL Sediment Water Filter Softener for Whole House, Reusable with Siliphos to Minimize Scale and Corrosion, 1" MNPT + 3/4" FNPT, 50 Micron by Holly Robinson

Ideal for the first stage of water treatment.

I live in a rural area with an old well. I decided to fix the old plumbing and install a filtration system in the house. We have known for years that there was scale and rust in the plumbing and as a result they had to constantly replace hot water tanks many times as well as clean the washing machine strainers and sinks multiple times. This is a first stage filter that removes loose sediment and bits of rust that may have come from the well and/or pressure tank. Simple and clean design. 3/4 water inlet with an arrow indicates which direction the water should flow. 3/4 screw outlet to next filter. It's hard to screw up. The flush valve on the bottom blows out anything that might be inside for a quick clean. Something I didn't notice when I bought it is the polyphosphate beads in the wire filter mesh that are used to treat rust. and prevent limescale formation. <They need to be changed about once a month or every three months (depending on how much water is flowing through your lines during that time). When all was said and done and the pipes assembled, I turned on all the vents and watched the mess of dirty, tawny dirt flow through the filter and settle to the floor before being blown out. I definitely understand why I've had to constantly switch and clean devices so often and I should have bought one a long time ago.

Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
