1) This is NOT a down-rotating filter. the water flow is NOT cyclonic; There is NO centripetal force as the water does not rotate or circulate in any way. I would call it false advertising - it's NOTHING more than a simple steel filter. 2) fittings complete crap; they are not made properly and LEAK ANY ONE. After reading the reviews and doing my research this seemed like the best option, with a scale inhibitor built into the filter cartridge I think it's a good design. I've used L-type copper weld fittings on everything and they work great. The threads are a little tight and took a lot of effort to get them attached properly so that's my only complaint. I attached the hose to the bottom of the drain pipe because it was so close to the other pipe and found that the nozzle wobbled a bit when pushing

The 50 micron filter that came with this unit worked well. I had to flush the device once or twice a day. I'm on well water with fine black sediment. I called iSpring. They suggested switching to a 200 micron filter. My disappointment was that they would not exchange or take back a used filter. For health reasons, I'm sure. They said trial and error is the only way to determine which filter is the right one. I have 200 microns and it takes at least a week before I backwash it with no noticeable

I live in a rural area with an old well. I decided to fix the old plumbing and install a filtration system in the house. This surprisingly beefy little device is a sturdy glass jar with a thick brass lid and a well-designed filter that's fairly easy to clean. Easy and straight forward installation that was pretty straightforward (they even provided teflon tape!).
