Defective device or bad product. Stay away. There are better options

My device couldn't maintain the max temperature for more than 3 minutes at best. In half the time it heats up to a maximum of about 50%, then after 30 seconds it overheats and the device cools down. Then I have to wait about 30 minutes before trying again. "Cool mode" does not solve this problem in any way. Once it was on I tried cooling and then raising the temperature but it didn't respond. The only thing to do was cool it down, then turn it off and let it sit, and then try again. Sometimes he didn't get warm at all, even if he tried in vain. I think the overheat protection was defective. I ended up buying a Dewalt D26960K for $20 less and more. It is much better for peeling paint, it can work at full temperature all day. I love Makita cordless tools but this was a big disappointment. Even if the tool worked, the set is still overpriced for what it has compared to others, so I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
