The suction cup works well and the light is bright (extremely powerful). The blue is a very nice blue and much brighter than the night lights that sometimes include metal halide night lights. One thing I would add is a black piece of plastic to block some of the light a bit. The plug isn't one of those giant plugs, although it's not a standard plug. I can install a standard plug next to the socket on the power strip. In hindsight I would like to go with the H2Show LED Light ColorMix Multicolor because 2 different colored lights can be too bright at night but I have mine in a 24 gallon nanocube so take that into account. Btw don't get the old model if you have these. I had old models with bubbles etc. Just get the H2 show model. Since then they have improved their product and older bubble models require the included air line to hang over the tank and older models just aren't as bright and the blue color isn't as pretty.
