Bad connections? Read my advice to make them work.

I finally got them working. But not the way they are made. They didn't connect at first and I believe that's due to the poor/cheap design of the pins, which are like little sharpened knives that poke up from the bottom of the lightstrip to make the connection. I've tried several times. sometimes even cut the strip to get a new connection. Multiple failures. So I found that the pins just don't get good contact when pierced from the bottom up. I've tried two fixes, both of which work. First fixation: Bend the end of the strip you want to connect to so that the copper contact is visible from both the top and bottom, then fix it. Second solution (easier): Flip the clip over so the contact pins poke through the strip from the top where the copper contacts are. So make sure the valve on the clip is facing down. It's clearly designed to be lifted with the flap pressed against the band, but it works great upside down and not at all (for me) when the right side is up. For reference I have a Daybetter LED strip. the lights. Finally deducted a star because the clips are very difficult to open. You will need a slotted screwdriver to open/open the dampers. Not a big deal, but certainly not worth a 5 star experience. They are cheaply made and will help you find workarounds. My concern is that they won't hold up well over time.
