I always read a bunch of reviews before I buy and like these people break it in the box or it doesn't open a particular can and they rate it on one star, and this belies a possible five-star rating. I am an elderly person, I have had several can openers over the decades and they have all worked well including this one. The old can openers were metal and looked more like a heavy duty machine, but it seems all can openers are made out of the same parts. I've had this opener for a few months and have opened everything from a small can of tuna to a #10 can and all cans have been opened (quietly) on the estate, I expected it to work. This opener is not designed to open #10 cans (really large commercial size) but with a bit of balance I was surprised it worked. Some reviewers said they found jars that wouldn't open, but that didn't happen to me. I worked as a caterer until I retired and still cook a lot at home, buying jars of different sizes and they all open properly. Looks good and works well, 5 stars.
