Review on πŸ“‘ Winegard RV-WING Wingman UHF RV TV Antenna Booster: Easy Installation, Enhances Digital UHF TV Reception – White by Doug Booth

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works! good for TV, radio and network antennas

I was skeptical about the Winegard Wing antenna. But to my surprise it really improves the reception of terrestrial TV. Before installing the wing, I raised the RV's antenna and aligned it to the best TV broadcast source in our landscape using an online digital TV reception map. I then scanned the channels on the TV, which revealed 34 channels with different reception strengths. I wrote down the channel numbers and their approximate signal strength. Then I installed Wing. I did a new channel search (with the same antenna position) and recorded the channel numbers and signal strength again. I was amazed by the results, the wing was able to connect a total of 63 channels (almost double what it was without the wing) and also improved reception on several previously scanned channels. I don't know how this mount works as there are no extra cables connecting the wing to the original antenna. But I remember (it's about my age!) that people would attach metal or aluminum foil coat hangers to the bunny ear antenna on black and white TVs to improve reception. The wing can be a similar concept. The wing worked as advertised and I highly recommend it.
