I bought 3. When they were new they were great! The finish seems to brown over time, which I don't particularly care about. I received countless compliments early on and advised others to buy this item. That was before I knew about the startup problem. The magnifying glass itself works great and the panning action is great too, although the grandkids broke the two pieces a couple of times. Also, the chain kept getting caught on my clothes, so I had to replace it. Those two big issues aside, this is a winner.
