First, we like the fit, as you can see in the first photo it fit perfectly in the back of our 08 Honda Element. We laid down foam tiles on the floor for protection of the mattress.It fit us both (large female/average sized male adults and our two dogs. Lab mix and beagle mix. Secondly, we did anticipate needing extra covering for our 2 dogs which we did via a sleeping bag laid flat on top, and then a fitted sheet over the top/on the mattress. The second photo you can see the padded look. (IT WORKED! for about 4 days!) Til my dog peed on it.*IT WASHED WELL WITH DAWN DISH SOAP AND WATER* in this amount of time we acquired holes.DOWNSIDE: DOES NOT COME WITH COMPLETE PATCH/REPAIR KIT LIKE IT SAYS!it comes with two colored patches, one for each side. Patches are not adhesive/sticky in any WAY SHAPE OR FORM and their are no instructions or glue to adhere. Luckily our holes occurred on the 30th day of return policy so we called and got a replacement which went flawlessly.My advice: Get this mattress if you want a nice sleeping surface in the back of your SUV.If you have dogs, BE CAREFUL and use extra padding because they can and WILL puncture with their nails.Get some adhesive for the patches.
