Our bedroom fan is always on all night. Whenever we replaced one, the new one's low-speed setting was either faster or slower, and it took us a while to get used to the change. So our old one was in need of a replacement soon and we went in search of an infinite speed desktop fan. While this one isn't infinite, it has far more settings than any fan we've come across and more than we've ever used. And it's without a doubt the quietest fan we've ever had. While this is good, it is not perfect. As some reviewers have noted, the fan's blue digital display is exceptionally bright and is especially distracting if you're using it in the bedroom at night. There is a function to switch off the backlight of the display, but unfortunately this can only be programmed on the fan unit itself and not activated via the remote control. If the manufacturer had provided the ability to dim the display or even turn it red, it wouldn't be so bright. After using this fan for a while, we recommend one more improvement: if you want it and then turn it off, it should shut return to your previous settings when you turn it back on. Instead, it always switches to the default setting of "normal wind force 10". You then have to go through several processes to get back to the desired setting. As for the remote itself, there's a dial that you turn to set the speed. It can be difficult to get that thing to spin. It seems like it was made for someone with small hands and strong fingers. I note that another reviewer stated that they had problems with the remote control. We also had an issue with our remote - the off button didn't work intermittently and we had to turn the fan off ourselves instead of using the remote. We contacted the seller who was very very willing to resolve the issue to our satisfaction. So if you're looking for an exceptionally quiet fan with lots of speeds and settings, and don't mind a bright display, albeit a fairly pricey one, this could be a good choice for you.
