I hesitated to buy it because I kept complaining about noise. To be honest, I kept waiting for the jet engine. The noise isn't that bad, about as loud as a desktop fan. I can only assume that people with noise complaints must have bionic hearing because I have above average hearing and a short attention span, but I can easily ignore that. The real icing on the cake and the reason I was compelled to buy it is that it works wonders at eliminating odors. I have no idea how a cat can produce an odor rivaling that of an elephant using regular cat poop. I've tried different products and while I've finally found brands that don't smell like death, they're still pretty lazy. The litter box is in the main bathroom. I can be in the kitchen, on the exact opposite side of my house (2,400 square feet), and clearly tell when he dropped the brown nuggets. Before I had this cat hole, my three dogs were the biggest source of weird smells in the house. They smell divine compared to that cat's poop. I plugged this little miracle worker right above his poop drawer, and it no longer stinks—except when I'm crouching and clearing out the drawer. Oddly enough, the air in the master bathroom seems fresher and cleaner than the rest of the house, even though my cat and I share thrones in the same small room.
