Review on A16001 AquaClear Impeller Shaft Filters by Tony Baker

I am writing this review because I am waiting to replace this impeller shaft. This product will NOT withstand the ingress of sand into the impeller shell. Obviously this is the weak point of the whole Aquaclear design. That being said the product works great on my other tank and actually works great on the tank in question too, it just wears out quickly if it picks up dirt like sand. I installed a pre-filter and am hoping this will get rid of my sand problems. And yes, it still works well, even in a worn condition.
