I made this chopping board for my mother on a purchasing class about 40 years ago. He has never undergone any treatment other than what I did in the workshop. Mom hardly used it because she didn't want to ruin it. Many years later she gave it back to me so I could use it properly. I sanded it to remove cutting marks. When I applied Clark's mineral oil, the damp fur soaked it up like a sponge. I applied more every 30 minutes or so. It took several days for the cutting board to stop "drinking" the oil. Then I applied wax. I plan to leave this for demonstration and use! Too bad there wasn't a photo before. I was so excited when the package arrived that I got to work straight away! That's great! Thanks for breathing new life into an old treasure!
