I don't know what all the fuss is about. The bracket gives you the option of mounting it to the gutter either by mounting it as it comes out of the box or by turning it over and unscrewing the pivoting bracket that attaches to the back of the solar panel and it to the other screw side. You may need some sort of padding (a paint stirrer will probably do the trick, as another reviewer mentioned). Incidentally, how to turn the mount is described in the instructions that come with the mount. I think some people are too lazy to read. I would do a trial install on the gutter with ONLY the bracket and then if you are good mount the panel and adjust to face the sun. My battery went from 80% to 100% in just a few hours on a partly sunny day. I was impressed!
