Review on Enhanced Tank Lighting: Current USA Orbit LED - Adjustable Mount Bracket by Calvin Chavva

Cheap plastic parts are cheap! who knew

Nice metal neck essential for holding any weight. The bracket and all the screws that come with it (the one that actually connects directly to the tank) are all plastic. The screws are so soft that they break the first time they are screwed in; They don't even need to be tightened. Just grab the right size screwdriver and have fun removing the head of the screw. At least they could make thumbscrews considering how big they are. Three mounting heights are available via three pairs of screw holes on the neck. If you want to change the height, you have to unscrew the cheap soft stripped plastic screws, move the entire neck, and then put the cheap soft stripped plastic screws back in. I don't understand why the screw holes couldn't be index plate slots, so all you had to do was loosen something and get the light to any position over a wide range, rather than completely disassembling everything to make an easy adjustment. But no, it's nice to know that the entire weight of my electronic flashlight hanging over an open tank full of water is only held by two cheap, soft, stripped plastic bolts. Index notches on top that fit into neck attachment slot. This is great for making sure your light is always perpendicular to the neck. It turns every other arrangement into garbage. I have a 27 gram hex. I want the light to be parallel to the neck as the aquarium will be fully lit anyway and the light looks better parallel. With parallel mounting, the bracket is free to rotate, unscrew, and barely stay in place (generally a bad thing when hanging electronics over large water tanks).
