Almost Dana Scully Color

I've scoured the internet and watched millions of episodes of The X-Files to find the perfect Dana Scully color and finding the right shade is incredibly difficult. Toast of New York is a "classic" shade, like it was from the 1950's or so OG, although I didn't see it myself until the late 90's. I would never have worn that rusty brown back then, but as I tried to channel my inner Scully, I tried to find the reddish brown tones that she uses on the show. It's not as orange as I half-expected, although it's quite brown and a complex hue overall. It's not 100% Dana Scully's color, but it kind of goes in the right direction β€” although there's something a little off. (This may be because her lipstick always looks saturated but see-through, like you can see her lip skin underneath the light color.) In terms of texture, these lipsticks are pretty good. I tried Toast of New York AND Rum Raisin (deep pinkish brown) and the texture of both was the same - smooth, moisturizing and slippery enough to glide on easily and not stick my lips together. However, this "escape” has its price: the color does not last long. It doesn't slide so much, but simply disappears when licked from the lips over time. I don't have time to wear lipstick all day, so while I like the creamy feel, these slick and slippery lipsticks aren't my go-to choice for everyday wear. (That honor goes to Maybelline SuperStay Matte paints, which can survive a nuclear blast.)

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Too Stupid
