Review on Beltronics 015007-6 STi Magnum Radar Detector: Ultimate Protection for Drivers by Tim Harrington

First of all, you get what you pay for. In a successful attempt to save money I bought these detectors. 1.) Cobra Electronics SPX 7800BT The ultimate in radar/laser/camera performance. 2.) Cobra Vedetta Ultimate Detection System Series, SLR 600 Radar/Laser. I consider myself fairly well researched for everything from Radar Roy on YouTube to the queasy reading of the many reviews here. The actual test lasted 4 hours. California Interstate 5 and US.101, both made famous by our famous CHP friends. Several times it was my "eyes" that drew me to the version of "You're Got Mail!" for BHKW! None of the detectors warned in time. When the detectors went off, officials from the Golden State were already in sight. So I traded both of the Cobra's "cleaned fangs" to the Revane and settled on the STI Magnum. Day and night. Yes. I know some of you might think I'm comparing apples and oranges, and to a certain extent you might be right. at least for me. Now STI. Just received today. Oh, by the way, I bought a visor clip and a 12 foot "straight" cable. Both are great options. Now my STI is very discreet, both visually and electronically. On my first ride, I picked up the local sheriff in a Crown Victoria with no Ka light bar. I've lived in the area for almost a year and never knew the locals used radar. So when the STD worked, I kind of didn't believe it. To my surprise when I wanted to turn left. .here he was! We are about to make another trip to Northern California.
