Review on πŸ”’ Secure Your Laptop with the Kensington MicroSaver Keyed Laptop Lock, K64068F by Scott Larson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It does exactly what a lock in this price range is supposed to do

Pros: Thicker than many other cable locks I've had. Easy lock and unlock so you don't have to spend five minutes locking your computer and then another five minutes unlocking your computer. It shakes on my netbook so the rubber bumper is really good but doesn't shake on my laptop. So whether or not you get the "jiggly" people have been talking about depends on the computer slot you're dealing with. However, it's better than the coiled Kensington combination lock I've bought before in every way. It gnawed through my computer's plastic case around the slot because it was so difficult to block! So if you're deciding between a Kensington combination and a Kensington key, choose the key. Your poor computer case will thank you. Cons: As mentioned, it's a bit short. I'm also a bit concerned that "if someone tampers with it, you'll never be able to unlock it again!", a feature others have mentioned, but I'll address that if it happens when it happens. The key is a bit bulky to carry. I use it as part of a layered security system. Of course, a lock alone won't stop a man with bolt cutters. Just hoping to stop the occasional thief trying to take advantage of my brief bathroom break in class or something.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
