[Husband is writing this review on behalf of his wife.] I work in construction and walk at least a few miles a day through puddles, mud, oil, snow, ice and salt/melt water. I wear them every day and every aspect of these boots has lasted 18 months: outsole, tread, waterproofing, leather, eyelets and even laces. I'm always wary of brands exiting their swimlanes. I have two Carhartt jackets and other clothes, but I've never seen them in the boot room. However, I chose these boots for several important reasons. First, men's wedge boots usually have huge, thick soles; like damn platform shoes. From the photos they looked like the soles weren't that pronounced (and they really are). Second, they were waterproof, which was important to me as I walk a long way from the parking lot to my house (water resistance is normal). Finally they didn't have that stupid tongue on their backs. I recently bought a second pair to wear over time as the OGs start to wear out. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars and not 5 is because the 'tan' color of the new models is much darker than my first pair. Otherwise, these boots are surprisingly resilient. (NOTE: They are a bit narrow but I found them to break in well).
