Review on Minka Aire F843 DK Ceiling Control Distressed by Lorena Grant

As a general contractor I feel compelled to write a review on this fan, hopefully to distract from the issues and experiences with the company and the terrible customer service. I live in Hawaii where we have high humidity and high moisture content in the air. We also keep the windows open all year round. Dust that accumulates on the fan blades sticks due to the humidity in the air. Dust must not simply be wiped off with a dry cloth or feather duster, but a damp cloth must be used. Trouble is, when you wipe it with a slightly damp cloth, it actually wipes the coating off! Other ceiling fans in the house are easily cleaned in the same way. I figured since I work in the industry and sell a lot of their products, and I have their products in my private home, I would contact Minka to (1) notify them of a problem with their product (2) ask about a way to fix it my damaged item. NO, all I got was 2 reps telling me it wasn't covered under warranty, I should just use a rag and any other excuse to explain their way out of No Fault. Unreal! What a waste of money and time. I asked if they stood behind their product and got a leg up and then a sales pitch about how good they are almost as if they forgot I called to complain. Total nonsense, even my Home Depot fan who was half the price of the Minka has no problem with it. If it allowed zero stars in the rating, I would put it that way.
