Review on Gibraltar Mailboxes Universal Mounting PLMB0060 by Eric Carr

This product will NOT fit the very large Gibraltar post box. I *thought* I had a large mailbox (other reviews said it would fit), but it turned out to be very large. Well, universal mount, right?!?! I opened the package and was shocked at how small it was. I've read about using extensions so I've tried but they won't even stay in place without a screw and the screws aren't long enough to fit. Even if they did, the design is so ridiculous it would be almost impossible to install a nut. There's no reason simply not having a larger version for larger mailboxes - the only reason is to save pennies in production, which is obvious when you look at the thin piece of plastic that a heavy mailbox is designed to protect. This will probably work for a small mailbox that never has to deal with snow plows or storms, but it should NOT be called "universal". It's just false advertising. Now I wasted 2 days waiting for this and an afternoon trying to figure out a way to get this to work. Totally dissatisfied with this product.
