This is a beautiful thin golden parchment ideal for papermaking. It's not sheer like fabric, but thin enough to be sheer and work well with bangs and layers. It's light gold on the yellow side. So if you are looking for "antique" gold, this may not be what you are looking for. It's NOT "reflective" or metallic - it's shimmery. Just beautiful. Highly recommended.

Probably the best thing about this parchment is that it holds the ink very well - within a minute I know it's safe to touch the printed surface. This is important if you do needlework and don't want to wait a long time for the ink to dry. Durability is pretty good too, but if you're using it on a cutter like the Cricut, you'll need to make sure the mat isn't very sticky; Otherwise you could tear the parchment while trying to remove it.

I am very satisfied with this product. I make artwork and create drawings that I later transfer to a drawing board. Instead of the more tedious manual tracing method, I can now print my scanned drawing directly onto vellum, ready for tracing. I have used thicker parchment which has not been very satisfactory (although I have used it from time to time) but this parchment is used all the time. I make my own greeting cards and vellum really makes them more special and professional. I use a laser printer and the images and text come out nice and clear on parchment. The marbled white goes with any color chart I choose to use; and since it is marble it gives the postcards an even more interesting look. It took me a hell of a long time to figure out how to print on it as it kept getting stuck when I put it in my printer (Epson Surecolor 600). When I finally figured out the best way to serve it with a backing sheet, it looked great. I use the printed gradients as a background for paper lanterns that I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo. I used this parchment to create invitations for my sister's baby shower. I saw these great invitations on Etsy that have custom language printed on vellum over decorative paper. It's hard to say what would give a newspaper a 5 star rating, but I'm willing to bet it should be something along the lines of "Wow!". Factor either in the product or in the service associated with the purchase of the product. That being said I give this newspaper a 5 because I like it, the delivery was quick and it has a good tooth.
