Possible product design issues - READ BELOW BEFORE you decide to buy

While this product is very well made I WARN you if you use this type of filter. First, Tesla didn't install an air intake filter for some reason. When you install it (which is very easy) you'll notice the drain hole at the bottom, which this filter doesn't cover. When I placed a piece of paper over the hole, it retracted with the air intake filter installed and did not retract when removed. That means unfiltered air from the road gets into the cabin, which is worse than unfiltered air entering through the windshield. Second, this filter severely restricts airflow. You can ask someone to get in the car, put the filter in and take it out, they'll immediately notice how it's restricting the flow. I'm pretty sure this restriction caused my condenser to get moldy and gave the car a musty smell. There just isn't enough airflow through the coils to keep them dry, so they get moldy. The Tesla forum states that leaves blocking airflow will cause mold so reducing airflow with this filter will also cause it. Again, I have no complaints about the quality of the filter. I only doubt the design and usage. I removed my air intake filter and bought a HEPA filter from this company to replace the Tesla cabin air filter. I've been happy so far, but I'm not sure if this will cause the same problem.
