Review on 🌈 SilverStone Technology 2-Pack RGB LED Light Strip with ASUS AURA SYNC / MSI Mystic Light Sync / ASROCK AURA RGB / BIOSTAR RACING and Others Compatibility, LS02 by Matthew Augustin

I have an old motherboard with no RGB headers and was looking for a way to add RGB functionality to a software controlled chassis via internal USB. Not this device. I ordered it by mistake thinking it was a feature so it's my fault. This is a feature that Silverstone MUST build into this product (so it can compete with the Cooler Master RGB controller). I still wanted to see what controls are included in the onboard IC controller. You can connect it to a PC via the 4-pin Molex power connector and switch between different settings via the 2-pin connector. Silverstone recommends plugging in the reset button connector you usually have (because who actually uses the reset button in cases these days?), but I just shorted the pins with a metal tool to test it. Here are the patterns and colors you can toggle: Static (White, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Cyan, Magenta), Fade In/Out, aka Breathe (White, Red, Blue, Green , Yellow, Cyan , Magenta), Iridescent "Breath" (cycles through all the previously listed colors plus a few new ones, like Orange, Purple, Aqua, and then seemingly randomly chooses one of those colors in the future), Iridescent, Off. Just for the record, I have RGB controllers on my bike's wheels, which are smaller and have a lot more color options than this unit, so I'm not impressed with this offering. I'm sure this works fine with the RGB header, but I didn't have that option. Finally, the build quality is fine. It's all plastic. The connector for the power connector was offset from the plastic case, so I had to use a tool to position the connector in order to connect the power supply. The LED strips seem to be of decent quality and I like that the light is diffused a bit thanks to the thin white cover over the LEDs. Overall I won't be using this due to RGB color management limitations in the onboard IR.
