This air conditioner is just what I needed. Easily cools 3 rooms. The air is VERY COLD. When it's off, it measures the ambient temperature and the vent closes to prevent anything from getting inside. When you start it, the front vent will open to help you get started. It uses a conventional three-prong grounded outlet. It comes with a remote control and has several customization options including the ability to move the vent back and forth for cooler airflow. Yes, and the handles are located on the sides about 10 centimeters from the top (as it turned out from personal experience when I tried to remove them from the box). But no need to take it out of the box. When you cut the cord holding the box together, the top box should straighten up immediately. I use mine in a horizontal sliding window. I purchased the fabric hose cover separately from Revain. While not necessarily made for this particular style of window, it can be customized with masking tape (shown) or regular masking tape. It is held to the window with tiny strips of detachable Velcro that is included. It took me 5 minutes to install it. I've only noticed two things that might be a problem for someone. First you just need to know that it has a window air vent hose that is at least 6-7 inches wide. It's huge, especially since you shouldn't be using it with larger hose bends. The second problem is that the hose itself is very fragile. I've popped mine out of the back of the unit twice by simply adjusting its direction. The good news is that you can push it back securely into the clip with your hands or add tape to fully secure it in the retaining clip.
