is better than I thought after reading some reviews. Miner for me, jaws don't line up perfectly side to side, no big deal. I turned it fairly hard by hand with offset and nothing in the jaws and it held up well, it didn't turn very much due to the bad cast on the bottom plate / dremel tool / works fine now. The review said it wouldn't snap to the base very well or the knob just kept turning, most likely it was too loose. Pull the knob up when tightening to hook the square part of the screw/to stop rotation. The jaws had sharp edges which I ground and when installing I checked the flatness of the base and gasket if necessary before tightening. With a little TLC mine works very well and I'm very happy with the price. I also made a pliable plastic bushing to take the play out of the tightening knob. Open your eyes with a little work, it's worth every penny. R.J
