Where to start. I know it says 'residential' and I bought it for a gas tank, which is probably bad for me. It's too long and I ended up cutting it in half to get two smaller tools. The small end is 1 inch and my plug was 15/16 so that end was useless because the drain plugs are nylon and if they are even a bit bigger they won't work. However, the wide end is the right size for the heating element, so after I trimmed it all is fine. It would be nice if there was a nut on one end instead of mounting holes so you can get a little more leverage.
