Review on FloodStop FS3/8CD Sink (Hot and Cold) Compression Valve FloodStop: Ultimate Leak Protection by Christopher Wells

Basically a great product - it saved me from a flood when my reverse osmosis system broke down. It's also easy to install and use - it's standalone. If you install it in a difficult spot, it's not his fault. I use one set in the kitchen and the second set (different part number) in the washing machine. In practice it could be better. Build quality varies widely; On the last kit purchased, one of the internal seals (around the ball valve) was obviously deformed. A simple visual inspection of the facility should have uncovered this critical issue. The previous set had failed and started leaking, although it repaired itself by setting off the alarm while I was at home and I was able to shut off the supply immediately. And with hot water, the valves fail and need to be replaced about every two years; they will last longer if you keep them cold. (Not entirely surprising.) When I contacted the actual manufacturer (Aqua-Managers, 949 362 2916), they helped replace defective parts. But a free replacement doesn't make up for the time spent under the sink; Product for the first time with higher build quality and will get five stars every time. So three stars.
