Good for half a gallon.
I bought this to duplicate water jug straws and it definitely works. When I close the lid, it closes well. When I open it, the straw pops out. Not too big or small. I didn't have to adapt, but I liked that you could detach the mouthpiece for cleaning, as did the straw.
