I ordered this mop to replace the original make and model that came out. The original mop head had a spring to hold the mop head in place when placed in the washing position. This spring got out of place and eventually came out completely. The mop was useless. This brand does not have a spring but still locks the head. Sometimes I have to use my hand to block it. There are some differences between the original and this one. The original had heavy compression to remove water, but it also had thinner padding. This replacement has a thicker pad and softer compression. The original had a smaller bucket and a smaller mop. I didn't use the original for very long and I used it sparingly because it was around the house for the occasional blues. I ordered a replacement to deep clean a newly built home and it required a lot of abuse; this one is still standing. I've even used it to clean walls; it made my job easier. In the original, the pad is attached to the teeth on the flat surface of the head. This one does the same thing, but it also has a flap on each side of the head for inserting and locking the mat. I give this replacement 5 stars because it has lasted forever and still works well. The pad on this replacement is better than the original as it has more cleaning fibers and holds a little more water.
