One inch deeper and this thing would have been fine, but as is, unless you have dumb baby feet, this is worthless for shoe storage and doesn't seem like it would work well to store much else. I can almost get one shoe per compartment in, halving the capacity, but even then I have to curl rubber soles and stiffer canvas or leather shoes won't fit at all without jutting into adjoining compartments. So, buy this it if you have tiny little dancer's feet, and I'm sure you'll probably be happy, but if you've got nice normal sized dogs like mine, find some other flimsy garbage to waste your money on.
