Great replacement filter for my Hotpoint branded fridge (GE underlying components). This filter is much more affordable than the original and does every bit as good as far as I can tell. It takes a few glasses of water drawn through it after initial install before the water will run clear due to loose carbon inside. The size and shape appear to be the same as the original filter included with my fridge. There is markings to show where to line up the filter for installation. Install is as simple as aligning the "start here" arrow with the arrow on the fliter's mount, push up firmly and twist until the finish arrow is aligned with the mount's arrow. The seal is great and I seem to get about a year's service from the filter with my uses, although it is not rated for that long. We do have a pretty clean water supply where I live. This filter does a good job of removing chlorine and other tastes from my city's water supply.
