Sensor rod mounting knob needs improvement

I installed it on my 15" jet planer per the instructions and didn't have to drill any holes. After tightening the knob on the sensor bar in the last step of the calibration, the sensor bar still moves sideways a lot. The instructions say to tighten the handle very firmly, but that still doesn't solve the problem. Note. Movement will affect the accuracy of readings while the machine is running. However, I moderately stabilized the sensor bar to the planer with a spring clip, and the test cut and display differed by only 0.012. This is a design flaw that I will probably fix permanently by installing shims or something to make it stable if I decide not to return it. The spring of the calibration strut at the bottom of the sensor bar and the anchor strut are also made of very soft metal. Don't renew it because it won't go back, it's really useless. Overall the device works well and I give it 5 stars for accuracy and ease of use. I give 2.5 stars for the play in the sensor bar anchor and the unusable spring. Update 10/22/2016: I installed a sprocket lock washer at PN. WR5515 (pen) and it fixed the touch strip/bar perfectly. The threads on the handle are too long and will hit the shaft before the key (part number WR5508) will engage. [.] Although this is not actually necessary after calibrating the device, I replaced the spring with a better one from a home center. The device remains accurate during operation.
