Our couch is old and beat up. These were bought in an attempt to extend the life of our couch until the puppy is old enough to be trusted not to destroy it and they do a wonderful job of that.However, there are 2 functional things to keep in mind. 1.) All cushions are square. If your couch has the little L-Shaped jobbies that go around the arm, go a size up. 2.) You will have to reattach them frequently if your couch is used frequently (think- fitted sheets popping one corner every night). One thing I'm thinking of purchasing to ease my own annoyance with that is the elastic sheet clips. I'd suggest giving them a shot with your purchase.
