Melting and hot! Fire and smell from electrical cables.

Used for the first time today. Past Return Deadline. It was very hot to hold like it would burn your hand. Then came the smell. Something is burning inside. Smoking and melting plastic inside. 10 minutes after taking it out of the house it still smells suffocatingly hot like melting wire. I was excited to use it. I've never owned a hand blender. but after suffering minor burns on my arm, I'm no longer enthusiastic.
