Review on Pantum M6800FDW: Monochrome Wireless Multifunction Laser Printer - Print, Scan, Copy, Fax with Automatic Duplex Printing by Aneta Jastrzbska ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It was a reasonable purchase, I will order more.

We have owned the device for several days, so there are a number of difficulties and this is not so much a review as questions on use. If someone can solve our difficulties or send to where it is described how to solve this, I will be grateful. The device was purchased for the office mainly as a backup printer and main network scanner to replace the dead Xerox 3300. 1) The function of scanning to a PC over the network is very lacking. To scan not from an application from a PC, but directly from the device, select the machine where the scan will be carried out and send the file there and not run between the device to insert a sheet there, then to the PC to start scanning, then again to the device to pick up the original. 2) There is no booklet printing in printing. It is required to print 4 pages of a WORD document on one A4 double-sided sheet, so that when the sheet is folded, a four-page A5 book is obtained. The settings managed to select the print of 4 pages per A4 sheet, but the order of the print pages is incorrect - the booklet does not work. Roughly speaking, you need to print pages in the order 4-1-2-3 and not 1-2-3-4 and not 2-1-4-3 as the device can. 3) Unable to set up scanning to FTP. In 9 cases out of 10 it says "file transfer error". What is the problem is not clear. 4) it was not possible to make friends with the device with a local mail server, as a result, scanning to mail does not work either. 3 and 4, it seems that there are some problems with network protocols, since network printing and network scanning through the native application work fine. 5) Very poor instructions, where half is devoted to installing device drivers and very little on setting up the device itself. If we talk about the device as a whole, then the opinion is rather positive. At the present time, it is not particularly necessary to choose an MFP. For its price, the device is worthy, it works quite cheerfully, the quality of printing and scanning is beyond praise, it has a very small size. But there is a feeling that the software part is raw.

Pros
  • Price. Print quality. Scan Quality
Cons
  • Some of the declared functions do not work. Poor functionality
